It wouldn't hurt anything at all but there is no reason why you can't just break it in with the turbo on. Turbo motors are built with larger tolerances becuase of the added abuse they will take and do not require factory break ins.

don't do it man, the turbo pistons can only have a turbo connected up after otherwise they will melt... :shakeshead:

i thought boost helps to break the motor in.. i just took it easy for the first 1000 miles, gradually increasing the load and rpm.

you dont need to break a motor in if it was built right in the first place....... I have seen and had motors strait from the shop built and on a dyno and lasted with no problems, its a common mis conseption that people have that you have to put x number of miles on before tunning or dyno or boosting

the best way to break in a motor is to run it hard on the dyno. by "babying" the motor X number of miles your not letting the rings set. theres a good article on this if i can find it. i think its in all-motor

This is usually the method people refer to when doing a hard break in. I know it's written for bikes but I have broken in quite a few cars this way and never had a problem as well as all my bikes.

dood just put the turbo kit back on it.....and break it in that way....your rings won't set and you need to drive the car on break in the way you would once its already broken in......just my .02

break it in on the dyno, it will help seat your piston rings.

Well i broke in my motor N/A for 1000 miles before boosting it... 2 years later its still running strong. Even CR tests after 2 years show even numbers and the motor its like if it was built yesterday.
