Default Safe Boost on Stock GSR with Drag III???

I tried searching, but couldn't find enough info to answer my question. I have a 99 GSR with the Drag III kit, and was wondering: if I were to get a boost controller, what would be the highest boost I could safely run without adding any parts? It has a 12:1 FMU, Airtex inline pump, and stock injectors - would I need to get a Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Plus: I am at 5280 ft. Does elevation have any effects on how my turbo should run, or what boost I will be able to run?

As stated, 8 psi max. The higher altitude may actually prove beneficial in this case since the air is less dense. Since the pump and fmu don't compensate for barometric pressure or air density, you'll be running richer than at sea level, so you should be okay as far as fuel under WOT. The downside of high altitude is slower spool up... if this is a problem, consider going down to a .48 AR turbine housing.

With that monster 12:1 and stock everything else, FIVE POUNDS MAX!

You need a pump and injectors, so I would start saving now!

I wouldn't consider going above 7psi with stock injectors

Yeah, 7 psi sounds just fine, especially at that altitude, you can feel safe at 7 with the stock injectors (holding you back !)

If I were to get injectors, what size would I need and how much boost could I run then? What injectors would I need if I were to run 8 pounds, and what size if I were to build my block for 15 pounds?

With bigger injectors (you´ll need 310cc), you will need any kind of electronics to control them (apexi VAFC).......but then again you start with piggybacks.

Spend a little more money at first time and go standalone + BIGGER injectors (440cc, 550cc dependson boost goal)

440's might support 15 psi, but I would go with 550's at that point, but the 550's will be wasting space at 8psi, as said B4, 310's should cover 8psi nicely. The standalone can range from $500 to $2000, depending on brand and features. Injectors can be from $100 to $350, again, depending on brand and size, new or used. If you upgrade the injectors, you should use some sort of fuel control to make use of them... a piggyback like a V-afc will do you justice at 8/9psi (even more if tuned professionally). The standalone management can go to sky high levels with the right sized injectors, but it costs a bundle and REQUIRES dyno tuning ($300), so a standalone would run approx $1500-$2000 installed and tuned and can run insane boost levels. A V-afc, some ignition mgt and upgraded fuel system (you need anyway) will run about $500-$600 w/o dyno tuning, but it's closer to affordable. The choices are really up to what you want to do in the long run and if you are willing to wait or buy parts upon parts, upgrading along the way.

Is Hondata standalone? What is the difference between saturated injectors, and peak and hold injectors?

A certain year engine requires a certain type injector. The difference between saturated and peak and hold injectors is dependant on the year of the car. This info came straight from RC engineering.

differenece is the resistance of the inejctors. Its pretty simple to check and see which one you have. most newer cars use sataurated while the older cars used the peak and hold.
