SAFC/FMU
I DID SEARCH!!
Ok I am running a paxton FMU right now, when I go to put in my SAFC and bigger injectors, I should get rid of the FMU. That is what I think, but everyone around here says keep it in, I think they are losing it or something. What should I do, anyone with experience here?
BTW car is a d16z6 with a 16G turbo and side mount intercooler. Already has 3 check valves installed and I am running 8 PSI. Need some help finishing it off, just got it running two days ago. I Have everything to put in the injectors and the AFC is already installed but settings are set at 0. I alsl have a AEM FPR that I could put in to help out with pressure.
one last thing, the guys that are telling me to keep the FMU say that I need something that goes off boost. But I think that with bigger injectors and bigger pump, and being able to lean/richen the injectors I will be fine and have no need to run so much more pressure in the rail. Any info would be cool, thanks.

Re: (93turbo16)
with my first setup tuned by inlinepro, i had safc, fmu, 310cc injectors on my stock d16z6 ~9psi of boost. I'd say keep the fmu until u can get some better engine management.

inlinepro told me to leave it in b/c you want something that will change along with the boost pressure.
A friend of mine had his car running with a similar setup safc/fmu but on a gsr tuned by inlinepro also and he ran 11's.

Re: (93turbo16)
the only reason you would keep the FMU while using the AFC is because you have small injectors, example 310cc. I recommented getting some DSM 450cc injector with the AFC and put the FMU in storage. I ran with the 450's and the VAFC on my 00 civic SI with a custom turbo kit that I built w/ a garrett T3/T4 56 trim turbo. The car ran great. It was tuned at abacus and I put down 287whp on a stock 00 B16 w/ a greddy exhaust. I have a website that shows you how to setup the AFC if your going to use this setup.

I already have the AFC in the car, I am just going to keep the FMU in and if I can't lean the 450s out enough it is coming out along with the check valves. I really don't think I will need the FMU but I am keeping it in to keep people happy, it can't hurt to have too much fuel unless you can't lean it out you know.
