s300 freezing when getting tuned??
The tuner is Shawn Church and I know he has a lot of experiance with s300's, but he never had had this problem before and I know he does really good tunes .
I was having my car tunned on a s300 and after every pull on the dyno the hondata software would freeze and the car would shut off, Shawn would have to disconect it from the labtop and re-connect the usb to make another pass, we tried 2 differnt s300's and a differnt labtop but the same thing happened. What could be the problem?

I'd had a similar issue, due to a bad usb cable. Could be a bad cable, and could also could be RF noise. Are you using resistor plugs? Aftermarket ignition box? The s300 datalogging is very sensitive to that stuff.

Similar issue as well.
We could make a few pulls, but it would freeze up..the car would run and all, had to restart the software...
I don't know...
I'd vote some sort of interference from something..backfeeding into the ecu causing it to drop the connection..
Or a software glitch between an exisiting setup on a laptop..
Who knows..

I have experienced similiar problems also with customer cars. Never could find a consistent reason for it. This is why I dont like dealing with the s300, way to expensive to have glitches other software doesnt have.

Does it affect the tune at all? Is it just an inconvenience to unplug and replug between pulls?
We wernt able to finish the complete tune yet and I was fixing a couple of issues I had and im go back tomaro to finish up.

True, I guess I should have said hardware sensitivity.
And to the OP, the car will run fine. It is just annoying to have to keep messing with the cable.

I had an issue with a customers personal laptop when tuning a s300, it worked perfect with my laptop but for some reason it froze every log with his. I imagine it has something to do with the driver setup.
Make sure you have resistor plugs in there, im sure Mr.church already knew that. lol

All usb cords are 2.0 capable.
They just started marketing them as such a few yrs back when they released 2.0 hardware..

Yea, all the cords will work on any 1.0 or 2.0 device..but unless the hardware is 2.0 capable..you will only see 1.0 speeds...
