S2S1 cams good for turbo?
i have a question, i was going to go all motor so i bought some skunk2 stage1 cams cuz i wanted to stay carb legal cuz i live in cali! well anyways i bought some gsr cams to go in my b16a2 cuz i have heard that they are a cheap way to make alittle more power for turbo's(and got them cheap from a friend). well i heard some things running around here that ctr are even alittle better and since s2s1 are only alittle more aggressive, i was wondering if i could make even alittle more power with these? i have skunk2 gears and im gonna be running hondata if that helps. thanks in advance guys and gals!

The only way you would know for sure is if you try them in your setup. Go to a dyno and swap cams. I got me some S2S1 cams but havent installed them yet. There is another post on here where a guy is running Crower 404s (which are way more agressive than S2S1s) in his turbo setup running in the 12s on 6psi. Like I said try them for yourself cause some people on here only say what they've heard and not what they've experienced.

The Crower 404 duration numbers are similar to that of the B16A cams, and the lift numbers are like the CTR's, they arn't any more agressive than CTR cams.

thanks for the quick replys guys! so then what your saying is that the 404's arent as aggressive as ctr's? why did the other guy say that the 404's are way more agressive? bump for some more help!

lol, forgot to mention the main reason for my first post! I've had a long day
I ran S2S1's "by accident" on my old B16. It was 81.5mm, 7.8:1 compression, ported head, with an SC61. I didn't know they were skunk2's untill later my friend told me that instead of giving me back my ported head with ITR intake/GSR exhaust cams he gave me his head with Skunk2 stage 1 cams. I can't comment on how much power it made in comparison to GSR or ITR or anything cams, but it was a strong running motor. What I think you should do is get em both dyno tuned and post the results If that's out of the question i'd probably run the skunk2's.

thanks for the input guys! bump for some more information guys cause im really curious about how good it will run and if its worth putting them in rather than sell them and just use the gsr cams instead!

http://www.crower.com/cat/impo...shtml This will give you the characteristics of the crower 404 cam. I dont think it will idle all the well according to what is written. Hopefully when I get my kit on the car I can find a good dyno somewhere in Germany. I'll test stock cams forst then the Skunk2 Stage 1s.
