S100 cold idle issue AFR 10.0
Ok here my problem, I have a b16a2 on 10psi tuned on hondata s100. Well cold idle is 10.0 so I called my tuner he said "oh on s100 you cannot change the cold start idle AFR" is this correct? Someone please give me accurate info. My plugs have white tips and bases are coated in black. Running way to rich! Someone help!

I mean s100 you can adjust AFR on cold start right? He said there isn't an option to do that. I'm deff going to bitch cause that cost me 450$ to tune

Re: S100 cold idle issue AFR 10.0
Here in Texas we are seeing 80-90 degrees already. The other day when I started the the readings were more closer to 13-14. It was 55-60ish in the morning
My understanding is the ecu adds more fuel to get the motor warm to operation temps. So it runs a little rich to do so, I'm not a tuner just trying to make sense as to what happens in cold weather

You spent $450 on old software from the early 2000's?. It's F-king 2013. Get with the program and buy some decent software. Hell I got my S300v2 brand new and installed with a Hondata MAC boost solenoid for only $200 more than what you paid for ancient tuning software. Who the hell still sells S100 anyways? wtf?
Regardless of the software. At cold idle, in open loop, my setup can and will run as rich as low 11's and high 10:1 AFR depending on ambient temperature. If you are reading normal values after some warm-up time, then I wouldn't worry about it.

My apologies, I interpreted your previous post incorrectly.
$450 was for a tune, not software purchase.
Still... buy cheap/old product, usually get unwanted results and end up paying more in the end.

The ROMeditor software has a correction table for coolant temp vs enrichment %. In the lower temps, decrease the enrichment (lower value). The enrichment values should decrease until you reach 0 correction at around 160 to 170 deg F. It won't need enrichment anymore after that point. I think the s100 uses a chip + daughter board to run. If somebody has licensed software to pull, edit, and burn a new image on the chip you should be okay.
The concept is the same as a choke on a carb'd motor. You need enrichment to get the fuel to ignite when it's cold because the fuel doesnt vaporize as well when it's cold.
I use as little correction as possible to avoid lean misfiring until it warms up. The motor will tolerate leaner mixtures when it's warmer. Stay around mid to high 13's in the middle cells and in the 11's below 40 deg F. Play around with it to fine tune.
