running rich.... oil in pcv ?
at the track this weekend i did 1 run and at the very end i blew an intercooler pipe and the car did a rev limit type thing... but i was not at redline. when i got back to the pits the pcv hose which is left open had blown oil out onto the firewall... i got scared and didnt run the car again... on the way home after i put the pipe back on i boosted it several times and checked and it never blew any oil again... i was wondering if anyone knew why? i also run quite rich when driving at low rpms like 12:1, and at idle it varies from 12 to 15:1 dependiing on how long it idles... i run 12:1 perfect in boost as well... motor is dohc zc with forged pistons and crower rods... please help.....

this is not too terribly uncommon among some turbo applications. i saw a turbo dsm eject the oil dipstick and shoot oil all over the motor one time cuz of the crankcase pressure.

my crankcase is breathing.... i have the pcv open with no restriction... and the valve cover breather has a fiter on it.
and i did have a dsm that did that same thing and it sucked but i think i blew a ring or something so i sold the car.
anybody else had this problem... is it because the intercooler pipe blew off and got too much gas in the cylinders? that was one of my theories... let me know if i have something to worry about

OK, so your PCV is open to the atmosphere, right? What is inside the crankcase? Yeah oil, and when pressureized air and combustion gasses get by the rings into the crank case, they take some oil with them out the PCV. Set up a proepr catch can and PCV system as the stock system is totally insufficient on a boosted application.

Yes. Why are you spending money on drag racing when you haven't gotten it tuned yet?
