running a kenji chipped p28....will it be OK w/ boost??????
i have a 2000 civic w/ b18c1, with a chipped p28 by kenji. i am almost finished piecing together my turbo kit and wasnt sure if it was ok if i ran on that ecu until i get enough cash for hondata 3b.
i know a stock ecu would be better, but i dont have a stock gsr ecu, and also because my CKF sensor is messed up and the p28 is a "ckf sensor-less" ecu. i do have a stock 99-00 si ecu, if that will work with this motor.
the block was just built w/ JE 10:1 .25 over, eagle rods, new bearings, thicker HG. any input would be helpful. thanks.

that ecu was designed for all motor, and thus the timing is a lot more advanced than what is optimal for n/a. I had a customer with similar motors specs as yours melt his je pistons with this exact ecu program you are using. In short, no, I wouldn't recommend it.

i see....hmmm.
kind of a noob question, but will i be able to run a stock (unchipped) 94-95 obd-I p72? i have a obd-II to obd-I conversion clip, im just wondering if it'll work. i know u cant ride a stock p28 on my motor without re chipping it. thanks.

i'm stuck in the same position. will it be ok if you retard the timing by turning the distributer a whole bunch to compensate for the timing advancement in the ecu.

Proof is in a local guy in NJ, named Orlando and runs 11.1 e/ts on a stock GSR motor and 12psi boost on a turbo kit he did himself BTW.

it will be much better, you will need to get some kind of fuel mgmt, i think your best bet would be to hope somone out bids you and get the hondata s100, it is going to be cheaper then the p72 itself, and it will be avle to read boost, adjust fuel and timing to be optimal on YOUR setup. if you win the bid, i suggest you sell the p28 for as much as you can and get the s100 w/boost, talk to 2k_teg for great deals on them, tell him vinny, aka fastludeh22 sent you his way
edit:how much are you bidding for the p72? i want thinking of teh boost option when i said it was cheaper, but it wont be much more, plus it is much better, and if you add the price of a v-afc or other fuel mgmt it will end up a lot cheaper
