too much duration and overlap will allow your engine to blow boost right out the exhaust

I have the crower 404's in my turbo LS. I think that they work great.... I'm thinking about going up to the 405a's in my next motor..
I ran 11.0 @ 126 on 15psi on pump gas with 404's in a 2400 pound eg. So I think that those cams work well for turbo..

Also there another guy on the site that has made 630whp with the 404's..

Do you have cam gears? If so adjust them and see if the boost will come up.
The cams have nothing to do with the boost falling off.

It shouldnt matter if he adjusts the cam gears or what cams he is running. Your boost gauge is placed somethwere in the intake piping or intake manifold and cant tell you how much air is being lost through the exhaust overlap. The problem of boost falling of lies somehwere else.

advance the exhaust cam one degree and retard the intake one degree and see if the boost level comes up. That will dictate your next step.

Also I would check to see you have cracks in your piping or in your intercooler.

I had a car on the dyno last week and it would not boost past 13psi no matter what we turned it up to. It had a 1/4" crack in the end tank of the intercooler. It was real hard to see because it was on the back side.

That sucks man. Is your wastegate functioning properly? Check your BOV that its not to loose. Make sure all the charge pipes are ok and clamps and couplers are good. Check for vacuum leaks with some carb cleaner near all vacuum ports and hoses.

Those cams should work very well with a turbo setup. They just change the power band of the engine. The 402t's basically will keep the stock power band just make more power because of the increased lift. The 403's will make more power over stock and move the power band up about 500-800 rpm higher. Only down fall with a nonvtec and big cams is when you use an all motor can on turbo you will sacrafice bottom end fow big power up top.

But im all for the LST's baby. 19secbeast's car is makign BIG power on the 404's. Ill soon be making some big power on all motor cams as well. I have a set of JG Engine Dynamics cams for my engine. Reason for the JGE cams is ive never seen an ls with 404's and ive seen several dynos with the jge's and they work exceptionally well.

Good luck on figuring out that issue though. Do you have a MBC. make sure that isnt causing the problem. I know peopel have issues with MBC's all the time. boost spike and all that kinda crap

cap off the turbo and do a boost leak test. use an air compressor and pump air into the intake manifold or wherever u see fit. i usually use the brake booster line, or similar line on manifold. takes seconds to find leaks and i usually find leaks on almost any kind of car.

I dont really know about ls but all motor cams are never good to run on a boosted, and if you go to a good tuner or someone who really knows what they are talking about they will tell you the samething. Ive seen oem cams make more power on boosted HONDA setups than allmotor cams, for example my friend boosted a gsr and used some all motor skunk2s in his engine and loss 40 or more whp,and thats with my own two eyes and that is not the only dyno That I seen that on but when he came back with the oem cams he made that power back plus some with the extra things that he put in his motor. He was hard headed because the tuner told him that all motor cams will not make ANY power for a turbo setup and the only other cams that would have helped a lot for power int the high rpms with out him sacrificing power loss is itr or ctr. So until I see as car with allmotor cams in a boosted setup rollup and make some killer numbers Iwill not believe that its the cam because its definitly not sorry to say I never seen or heard anything like that. Inconclusion I did say in the begining I dont know what cam setups to use on ls but I would assume turbo cams.
