Default Running boost on a stock / near stock fuel setup.

I was just wondering. I have not gotten a V-afc yet (still saving for more CRAP and standalone is on backburner) but, in the mean time, I am at least gonna run with the turbo connected. About 6 psi or so.

How many out there are running on stock ECU/fuel system or close to it (FMU/FPR) on boost (how much) ?

im running 5psi non-intercooled - with a cold air intake. on stock fuel system - stock injectors, stock pump, stock everything. Ive had this setup running sweet for over 2 months already with no problems. Pulls hard all the way up to redline and holds solid at 5 pounds. Ive got a SOHC Vtec, 92 hatchback.

I wouldnt run more boost than 5psi on a stock setup though, it might lean out on the top end and preignite.

and as with anything, take care of it, and it will take care of u, dont rag ur car needlessly and watch fluid levels religiously, u should be fine.

I was wondering....I've got a 98 non vtech civic ready for turbo, or so I think. My main question is even by running low boost(5-7psi), how long will my stock internals last before I need an upgrade(under normal use). Or should I build my internals 1st? I am satisfyied with a SOHC, so internals and more boost are in future plans. As of now, I really want turbo, but I want to make sure my engine is capitabe of handling the extra hp.

stock injectors.. the car runs pretty rich on boost, which is good, I dyno'd on .55bar and my A/F was 11:1 so turning boost to .6bar didnt seem like too much of a big deal.. Also im running a bosch inline, and have recently added a walbro intank.. honestly, I wouldnt reccomend it, but the only reason I do it is cause 1) its an LS and our heads dont flow as much air so my car w/ 150psi fuel pressure will have a richer mixture then a vtec car at the same fuel pressure 2)9.2:1 compression ratio and 3) I have an EGT gauge, even on 9psi ive never seen over 760degrees.. but I still wont reccomend to people, but ill tell u that I got or am getting away with it.. stock timing too but youll be fine with your LSvtec, just keep it down to like 7psi until u can afford standalone..

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines, which is why I am considering going with about 6 psi to keep it safe and adjust the FPR and BTM so I can at least do SOME level of tuning. Damn... now I gotta tune w/ nothing again..
I am trying to buy and install an EGT b4 finishing the setup... but that might have to wait a bit...

Wouldnt recomend running both inline and intank? So just the inline is fine ?

i wouldnt reccomend running 9psi on stock injectors. intank + inline is fine, i know a couple other people who are running there cars like this too.

True, I ran up to 10 psi on stock everything + FMU, FPR for fuel. I ran fine for over 3 months.... that was until 'The night of 15 psi boost spikes !!!' (dum dum dum) <---- severed vaccum hose.
