Default running on 2 cylinders with cel 7 and 14

So I searched and searched and couldnt find what I needed.

I just put a d16y7 in my 95 cx for some boosting fun, I used the cx ecu harness and accessories, when It came time to get the motor started it started right up but runs like *** and throws phantom codes 7 & 14, so I replaced both the tps and iacv off of my old motor that I know to be good. Still throws the codes after clearing them. Now it seems to be running on only cylinders 1 and 4, I checked the timing, firing order and replaced plugs and wires. The dizzy is off of a good running car. Its getting fuel and spark (injectors off of good running car as well.) so what the expletive could be causing all this???

Curious as to how you know its getting fuel and spark?

An engine will run with 3 things, fuel, spark and compression...if you dont have one of those 3 and at the proper time...it wont fire at all or poorly.

i pulled all the plugs wires and stuck a screw driver in the end and watched it arc. I pulled the injectors and had a friend crank the motor and watched them spit fuel. That was retarted though cuz i damn near caught myself on fire. But what I'm wondering is are the injectors pulsing in the correct order? I know the firing order is correct and there is strong spark. I adjusted the valves and cylinders 2 and 3 valves were out of spec but it still didnt help. I am getting a compression tester today, so we'll see.

Try using an HEI spark tester...the screwdriver method is...uh...well.

Do you have a timing light to check your timing? Is the timing belt on correctly?

The crank and cam timing is on but I have no timing cover to check the ignition timing??? but I got it all figured out and the car is running fairly smooth now. I did a compression check and saw good numbers and rechecked fuel and spark so I decided to play with the tps since I kept throwing that code. turns out when I replaced the bad tps I missed the little key that turns the sensor with the throttle, after I got that sorted out it ran alot better which allowed me to realize that there were some other small things wrong.

you have the plugs on the wire harness plugged into the wrong places....switch them around

i'm pretty sure all 5th gens used a 2 wire IACV, while a d16y7 uses a 3 wire IACV
