Rods/Pistons Installed.... Now the Run-In???
Wassup Y'all?
I finally got my car back yesterday after waiting nearly 5 weeks....!! (and I'm still waiting for parts from Import-Parts!!!! - Dunno what's happened to those?)
So I got;
JE 9.0.1 Pistons
Eagle Rods
ARP Head Studs
P&P
New Bearings, Gaskets etc etc.
The car so far has been run in close to Moto Man's article. I just changed the oil today.. It has now done around 250miles after the build.
I need to know when I can start boosting hard?? I've only taken it to 6k revs and don't wanna go beyond that yet!?
Any1?? TIA.

Re: (booscivic)
if you did it by moto mans article, you should be just about worked in and ready to go. the last step in moto-man's article is a full throttle run (max power) and then a full in-gear decel. I don't think boost changes the equasion. just go with it.

Also when you change your oil look for metal shavings in that, a magnetic drain plug works suprisingly well. Im not talking about spending 100 bucks just because it says spoon on it. Just get one from Napa

Motoman's article doesn't say what to do after the initial break-in period... i wanna know when it's safe to booost to redline!?
I'm debating whether to go to the strip next week or is that just pushing it?? i gotta get me one of those magnetic plugs for the sump. I'll check the condition of the old oil and the filter.....
Any1 with any more info???
Thanx.

Re: (T-Blaze)
Is it tuned? Get your timing, a/f down and start beating on it. No reason to wait.
Drive it straight to the dyno and start making pulls.
