Robertohdz's attempt at getting 500whp out of a D16A6

re: Robertohdz's attempt at getting 500whp out of a D16A6
AZ also makes a great point about not under building. This was my point to the OP..... maybe he could build a 500hp motor for $4000 but that motor WILL die prematurely.

I’ll be the Guinea pig for this tranny discussion... when it’s all put together eventually haha, stock z6 tranny with an LSD. Until then let’s get back on track with the OP... even though he seemed to have ghosted because of all this nonsense

A block that will need at the very least pistons, rods, bore, hone, bearings, new oil and water pump, polish the crank. Oil pan that will need to have a drain return line added heck the fittings and lines, head studs, head gasket. The head is going to need something, I sure as heck wouldn't run stock valves, springs/retainers new seals maybe resurface the head, maybe a cam, cam gear new timing belt. How about labor unless they are doing everything themselves and tuning? All this stuff starts to add up real quick and $4000 goes bye bye real quick as well.
Not to mention getting 500whp is going to be harder then if the guy was starting off with a GSR motor of something and it will take more effort.

You will notice when you are on here for a while these types of threads are always started and ghosted by the OP. Almost every couple week these threads pop up because everyone wants to have a 500whp car but most don't come through LOL.

The biggest issue most have is they think 500whp motor and tend to forget everything else that is needed. For example you're not making 500whp on a D series with 91. So fuel, you will most likely need a fuel rail, injectors and FPR, how about intake manifold and throttle body? What about axles, trans, clutch, better motor mounts? How about suspension, 500whp on crap stock shocks and springs would suck *****, what about all the worn out bushings that a 25 year old Honda is going to have? How about a good set of tires or camber kit, this thing will need to be tuned on what or how about ignition and spark? Now get into the turbo kit, a crappy log will probably crack or not even get you in the 500whp range. So you will need a halfway decent turbo manifold, intercooler, piping, BOV/Gate? What about cooling, most likely will need a better radiator and fan setup and now let's discuss the motor.

re: Robertohdz's attempt at getting 500whp out of a D16A6
I saw the first post and read through this mess. I seen the original recommendations and the OP response of $4000 dollars or less. My response is for the OP, $4000 dollars for a 500whp car is not going to cut it. Building an overall good running reliable 500whp car is not just a motor and some fuel. Their is an overall picture that is missed with projects like this, oh up until you see the posts with "why am I running out of fuel, why are my axles clicking, what is a good tire, why doesn't my motor run right, why am I not hitting my target power level, my trans just broke, my clutch isn't working"?

A decent build in the 300hp range is easily accomplished in that budget, also what I recommended due to OP's admitted lack of knowledge.

There's a difference between a joke here and there, and outright spamming/shitposting. Anyway, I'm done with this thread.

Or even just continuously read around, magazines, forums other build threads.. first you need to fully understand the concept of forced induction and the reason for each part of a turbo kit..
