Robertohdz's attempt at getting 500whp out of a D16A6

re: Robertohdz's attempt at getting 500whp out of a D16A6
It's a great platform for sure, but It kills me to see D threads turn into what this one has. There are many pushers of b-series and too many d's ending up in a garage corner collecting dust. It's a shame because the Z6 is a great little performer.

d series are good motors, they really just don’t have transmissions to hold the abuse so you end up having to run a b series trans. And by then may as well get a b series engine to go with it.

Another piece of misinformation from you here.. My own transmission from my B7, is on my Z6 right now, handling the abuse I'm throwing at it just fine.

And if I’m just talking out of my *** why does the d to b even exist? Please be logical if the d series was enough to hold the power why would anyone put a b series trans on a d?

Because the D trans is pushing its limits at the 600 range. Most builds in this range usually consider full series swap anyways. Lots of trouble with swapping to b trans so why bother? Just full swap and be done with it. I've not heard of b trans swaps in quite some time..

tell me that these two statements in different words aren’t making the same point!

Your point iterated more on the trans itself being the reason the whole swap is considered, not the power goal itself.

They're not. My opening statement said the d trans is pushing limits about the 600 range (i may be off, **shrug**) and that the D engine is usually not considered at all in a build with a goal of >600hp and a full series swap is considered then..

Yes, all of them. Including the antipsychotics. I've never personally seen any running 600 on a d tranny, but I've also never personally seen a 1k hp b series. On the net? Absolutely. I've had many people tell me I'd be disappointed with a "cheap" turbo kit but surprise surprise, I got fantastic results. I'm going after more, yes. I'm also doing it right so...
I've done many things that I was supposedly not able to, but hey, I enjoy a challenge. It makes my victories THAT much sweeter.
