ive had a fuel pump failure in the past and i'm kind of paranoid now (actually destroyed my motor). I'm currently running a Walbro 190lp and recently on one occasion it just wouldn't prime, i tried several times and then it finnally primed. I'm not sure what gives but ive been wanting to hard wire my walbro with some thicker gauge wire.

whats the best way to go about it, and where is the best source to draw from? thanks

First off, the 190 is a STOCK REPLACEMENT and is meant for stock setups. If you are boosted (I'm going to assume you are) then you want to go with the 255 or 255 HP.

Now to wire the pump up you want to get you power directly from the alternator/battery and run it back to the pump. Use a 30amp 12v relay and use the stock power to switch the relay. Then just ground it to the chassis.

Well since the 190lp flows quite a bit more than a stock dx pump, i just assumed that the 190 @ stock fuel pressures w/ 450s should be more than enough for my HP goals, which are about 300WHP max.

I also agree, get the 12v 30 amp relay and run some 8 gauge wire to it.

Using a standard 12V auto relay:

30 - feed wire from battery
87A - Not used
87 - when cutting stock 12V pump wire, this is to the pump
86 - when cutting stock 12V pump wire, this is to the car
85 - ground

8 AWG is overkill. 10 - 12 AWG is perfectly adequate.
