Default Revhard turbo kit crap......Way OT....

Here is the deal....should have gone with a Drag kit.....waited 3 weeks for the Revhard kit. GSR swap into a EG hatch. REvhard kit was supposed to be custom made...haha. We had to cut the piping like a champ. Flaking spray paint off the piping. No BOV. Dirt and greasy crap in the intercooler piping. No dump tube. No oil return line. Too short of a Braided line for the oil feed.....bur enough....here is the deal.....The car is smoking like a bat out of haties. Blue smoke. The car will not make any boost. I diagnosed that the motor is not smoking...the turbo is leaking oil. I took the turbo manifold off and there was like 1/5 quart of oil in it. Took the exhaust(hot) side of the turbo off and the compressor wheel must have been spooling up through the oil? Anyways....Going to call revhard in the morning afternoon and night and leave them some messages.....Would this cause the motor not to see boost? When we drove it for like 2 passes around the block...it just sputtered when it hit boost. Stock injectors...vortec fmu...47 static psi. AVC-R boost controller. ??? I am over this crap...TIA-JAson

I hope that everything goes okay with your kit. I think that the reason this kit was soo crappy....is that we told them that if they couldnt provide for a tracking # by last thursday, then we didnt want it. The pieced it together and sent it out. They said they didnt answer their messages because they were "gone racing".

Was this a new kit? If you bought through an authorized dealer they will take it back if sometihing was wrong with it. And if it was missing stuff they should be able to suppy you with it.
I hope it works out for you. Best of luck and keep us updated.

Did you check your return line? It you had oil in the manifold your return line was probrably kinked or too small. If the seals blew then there should be oil inside the compressor or burnt oil in the exhaust side.

Ummm.. I don't care for Drag or RH so I built my own damn kit!

damn...i thought i had problems with my revhard kit, but art is right..just talk to who ever sold it to you and they should help you out or just call revhard themselves...I had a problem with the turbo and fittings and i spoke to Myles Bautista and he sent me the fittings next day...also this guy i talked to at the track said his revhard manifold cracked and they sent him a brand new one within a week....i hope everything works out.

Call rev-hard and talk to Ramon. He will take care of you. That is only if you bought it new.

Brand new turbo kit. We bought the kit through SMA(sacramento motoring accessories) in Sac. They refunded the money for the BOV. And that is all the love we have gotten from them.

Drealgsr......there was oil all over the exhaust side housing and all over the blades of the exhaust side wheel. The oil line was not kinked at all. I am going to call Revhard today about this new "problem". Thanks guys-JAson

blown90hatch,

you got your parts from SMA? hmmm i get my parts from there every now and then. they seem to be cool on their customer service... but sometimes.... grrrrr... not really. but yah man... if they are an authorized revhard distributor... they should handle all the customer complaints and service.

the guys at importparts.com handle all the problems. never once had to call DRAG to have them give me new stuff. im sure alot of the DRAG3 owners who have bought their kits through importparts.com know what im talking about.
