The return of The Rice Bowl. Vol.2
I bought this 1994 Vx completely stock back in 2010. I have the original build when I swapped a GSR out of a '99 with 80k miles and boosted it with a go-autowerks 54mm turbo kit. linked below.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/appear...honda-3031606/
The first month i owned the vehicle back in 2010
Damn she was ugly!
The day that stock vx performance was no more!!
I ran it for a few years and kept up'ing the boost till everything was at its limits. The GSR longblock did a hell of job holding up to the abuse I put it through. PB on 100% stock motor was 7.0@100mph
Finally it came to a point where I the rings were giving out and started getting smoke under boost. So I tore it down to build something stronger. Turns out the turbo seals were giving out and not my rings. That could have saved me three years down time while I was going through a divorce but I was able to keep the race car and house.
Three years I am back ordering parts to handle the 61mm I'm throwing on it this year.
When I tore my GSR engine down, I came a cross a deal for a built LS short block not even broke in. I'm a sucker for a deal
So at this point the engine build consist of:
84mm Darton mid sleeved LS block
Arias outlaw pistons (coated)
Crower rods
GSR head with CTR cams
Turbonetic TGA 6157
S300 w bbg
Hondata C.O.P.
ID2000's
Pics for attention

It's always a good day when packages show up. I think I have everything now to complete my fuel and ignition system.

Thank you. I was really surprised when I logged on to see it. It's always awesome when other can appreciate your hard work and passion.
I am sending the motor off this week to the machine shop so I pulled her neglected soul out of the corner.

Not being able to see well at night. Gotta know where the ditches are if you're going to keep it between them.
More parts came in. A few more and the motor will be one again. My son was even able to understand why I alway say Santa wears brown. He got some parts for his quad he gets to install tomorrow.

I'm a little torn on intake manifolds. I currently have a skunk2 pro manifold and I just purchased a skunk2 ultra street manifold. I question if I sold myself short and should have gone straight to the ultra race manifold. My car is built for road racing more so than drag racing.

Short block assembled.
Time to clean and assemble the head
Modded hanger for AN lines. On a side note, got a dual pump In tank hanger up for grabs.
OEM goodness. Sad when you work at a Honda dealership and its cheaper to order from another... corporate.

Where Hondas go to become legends... or at least go faster.
I got to give my buddy Minh credit for all of his help.
The Hulk is hidding waiting on parts.
Got the head torn down and off to machine shop
Never found the answer i was looking for so we're going to put it to the test. Im thinking i should get the plenum spacer. I guess im just going to test the difference of plenum vs no plenum on the dyno.

It was a little nerve racking putting my Denji headlights in the oven but it went smoothly. Took longer with actually being glass lenses.
The point of no return.

Been a little slow lately. My head is still at machine shop... Apparently I had 3 busted guides and 4 bent valves. Just realized it must have happened when my AEM fpr diaphragm tore hydrolocking my motor. That gsr block went through hell!
I decided to go ahead and upgrade my intercooler to something that will handle moar powa. I think it will do.

Got the new intercooler home and trying to figure out intercooler piping... I'm going to run with my 2.5 cold side and just get 2.5 on the hotside.
Still want to get a new throttlebody, roll cage, new catch can. Its seems like a never ended list when shooting higher than 500 hp. I had an idea that another $1500 I would be back on the road. That's out the freaking window.

It's been a little slow with working on projects around the house before it gets too cold.
The hid retrofit I was doing on the denji headlights had a slight hiccup. When I separated the housing and lenses, the adhesive got on the chrome housing. Turns out you can sneeze and wipe the chrome finish off. I was able to find some hobby spray paint, Spaz Stix, that kinda impressed me. You will never know once I put it all back together. Also got the mounting brackets cut and clearances to fit the projector now.
Mocked up intercooler and will see how much of bumper needs to be modified.
Ordered skunk2 alpha 70mm throttle body which will be here tomorrow. Fab up manifold and exhaust and she will be ready for paint!!
