rerouting the BOV into intake benifit you for a/f ratio? what about sleepers?
just two questions about blow off valves,
#1 ---> in a mag i read that if a m.a.f. equiped car uses a bov to the atmosphere it will cause the car to run rich for a second because all that air was compensated for with fuel and that air deemed "going thru the motor" was blown away. do ppl here ever have issues with that?
#2 ---> for a phat sleeper will rerouting the bov into the intake kill the sound completely? or just sound strange and muffled?

1) honda's run map sensors, so we don't have that problem.
2) it kills majority of the sound, you can still hear a little of it. If you're trying to hide the fact that you have a turbo, it's pretty hard to hide the spooling sound!

1: Hondas = not MAF cars (thank god) so we're not affected.
2: To say that it will muffle is a crock of ****. Rerouting will make the discharge sound echo within the pipes which definitely wouldn't help sleep apeal. The only thing to make a BOV quieter is a louder engine or more spring pressure. If it were an external WG then it'd muffle, but for a BOV, it definitely does not muffle.

Is that why you can barely hear the diversion valve on my girlfriend's 9-3?

There's a billion factors that could affect that. For starters, the amount of boost, if it's a stock bosch BOV, and the size of the pipes. To illustrate, think of your exhaust, vs an open header. I'll put $$ on it that anyone with an open exhaust (no cat, no muffler) will have a higher dB reading than an open header. Those pipes do a great job of bouncing sound around and aiming them like a cannon, rather than let them go where ever they want like a grenade.

I own a stock 1.8T GTI.. couldn't hear the BOV stock.. put the GFB Hybrid on it .. (1/2 atmo, 1/2 Recirc).. and you can hear it 10X louder when it hits the atmosphere part.
