Default Replacing Pistons on the B18b (Ls), what should I get

I found out I melted a piston from over boosting so now I'm on a rebuild. What pistons (low compression?) should I throw in my block? I'm looking to boost 10-12 pounds with my full Greddy Kit. What should I get? Where can I get it from A.S.A.P.? Thanks.

How far did you boost it to melt a piston? You should be able to successfuly throw 10-12 psi at it on stock internals as long as you've got it tuned out properly.

I'm only running the Greddy Blue Box and the RC 310 injectors. Then on top of that one of the waste gate bolts fell off (was probably loose to begin with) and I didn't have a boost gauge so.......I'm not sure but I'm guessing it was around 15+. I figure since the block is appart I should drop in better pistons.

Aaah, I see. I've had to deal with a few borken pistons in my day as well I'd look into some larger injectors and possibly going Uberdata or something that will allow for more tuning. From personal experience i know your B18b could handle 10-12 psi daily with stock internals, but since you've got the block appart and your looking for piston replacements, I'd just invest in some forged pistons and rods. Tune it well, and you'll be set with reliability and the room to improve if you feel the need for more power

Got the same greddy kit as you on my LS, I rebuilt the bottom end with 9.5 compression wesico and eagle rod. Got it from ben at import part for 750 shipped for both, very nice price. Most likely any forged piston and rod would do, i recommend to get the compression between 9 or 10.

Call up Earl tell him everything you are doing and you want your car to do and he will sell you a set of CP pistons that are dead nutz perfect. I had Arais and then went to CP, much better.

EARL!!!!
