Remove Jumper J12 for Hondata S200?
I read on Hondata's site that it is recommended to remove (Or cut) Jumper J12 for the new S200 system. So I called Hondata to find out what they recommended, Unsolder it or just cut it. The person at Hondata told me to try it first (don't do anything with it) and if there are connection problems then remove or cut it.
So, I am wanting to know what people have done in this situation with their S200 installation? This is for a P28 ECU by the way but I don't think it makes a difference. I am just wanting to know what I should do when installing it without having problems I can prevent ahead of time.
Thanks in advance.

It states on ther site that,
"It is recommended to remove jumper J12 from the ECU. This improves communication reliability between the s100 module and the ECU. It is not necessary to cut J12 for JDM ECUs."
This should answer ur question. If not IM Hondata on here, he should be able to help u out more.

Just cut it first. so that you can resolder it when you want it back to stock.
Cutting J12 improves the communication between the interface box and ECU.

I also have the same question as "improving communication" is quite vague.
I've been running into some unusual probelms with my s100 w/ my p28 j12 still in tact.
After long rides (20-30 min cruise), the LED on the s100 unit begins to blink intermitantly (yes, its seated properly) and eventually ends up tripping the car to run in and out of limp mode. Not cool.
However, with my dealer's (c-speed) s200 unit connected, I get none of these problems and the unit's LED remains solid. Also there car does not fluctuate in and out of limp mode.
Can hondata answer before I remove the jumper?

Just cut the jumper and you will be fine. I tuned two cars a couple of days ago and there were no problems encountered with the S100. Ran at least 100mph and the tuning was done for three hours on an open road.

Something leads me to believe that P28's are for some reason affected with J12 connection issues more than P72's (those are the only 2 ecu's we've messed with).....
My P72 never had any connection problems with J12 in (we got rid of J12 anyways) but another customers P28 would have connection problems on startup until we got rid of J12....
Just an FYI

Like when we started the car with the P28 with J12 still attached, the hondata would blink as if the ROM was bad and throw a check engine.......the hondalogger also wouldn't connect, or would connect and then disconnect almost immediatly....
