RELIABLE
I am planning to go LsTurbo and i wanted to know how reliable it would be to piece a turbo kit together or how reliable it would be to go turbo at all. I am not a high dollar guy so just looking for advice before I start spending money and never stop

I have 10 K on my kit that cost $400, never once had a problem with it. So the key is to do your homework, and don't skip or go light in one area. And drive it sensibly. |

Re: RELIABLE (yehiknowrite)
Yeah my friend has a turbo kit for sale for $800. his oil line feed came off and put a rod through the block thats were the reliablity issue comes in.

Re: RELIABLE (hinds90)
if his oil feed line came off, then that turbo is probably fucked due to lack of oil

Re: RELIABLE (hinds90)
um.... ok?
like stated before, your best bet for reliability is something along the lines of a greddy kit or something similar. |
Re: RELIABLE (wantboost)
cheap and turbo do not go in the same sentence....you gotta pay to play
|
Re: RELIABLE (Deckedlude)
no you dont, you can play for cheap, just usually cant play for long
Cant make a junkyard reliable kit for under 1k |

Re: RELIABLE (hinds90)
go with GReddy kit, put FMIC and BOV if the kit doesn't have these, and don't go more than 8 psi ... <- this is reliable. Oh, and buy it new !!!

if the kit doesnt have these then its not a kit |
Re: RELIABLE (miro_gt)
No matter what you piece together, the reliability (if mechanically sound to begin with) will be found in the tune. Tune conservative and you won't have any issues. My LS-t was tuned conservatively and pieced togehter (The entire car) for under 4K. It was and probably still is very reliable https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
