Check to make sure your wastegate is closed. Check charge piping etc.

Hey man, Im planning on turbocharging my pretty much stock d16y8 over the summer but still trying to find out what all I will be needing and trying to get some ideas on what setup to go with. I was thinking of getting the regular 2000 buck greddy turbo kit and buy the rest of the kit off ebay so. Trying to go with that kit so I dont have to tune with a hondata or anything, just stick to the e-manage that comes with it, I have a budget of 3500 bucks. But what do you suggest? What all do you have in your d16y8? Thanx man this will be highly appreciated!!!

maybe a little bit more info on the setup? i'm guessing you're running an external wastegate. make sure you have the firering in and have the vac line hooked up to the correct port. post a picture if you can.

Does that include the tuning and everything? What turbo, manifold, and ecu did you go with? What all did you put into your engine?

i'm not sure how the performer x manifold is laid out, but if it's anything like the victor x, there should be enough ports on the back of it for anything that needs to read vacuum.

here is my old victor x manifold

i had one port for the brake booster, one port for boost gauge, one port for wastegate, one port for blow off valve, and i think one port for fmu or whatever else. i forgot. haha

make sure all your clamps for your intercooler piping are tight and you have no boost leaks. no vac lines with holes/rips either

If the tune is to far off, the turbo will be incapable of making boost.
