Ok...so its a whole 10mph difference...similar enough if you ask me to not be worried about 'melting pistons in a 5th gear pull'

What does an LS tranny top out at on 14" when revving to 8000?? I am just wondering the difference between that and mine....I'm revving to 8000 currently with 18" (I know, too big..I want to change them out haha) and my fourth goes to about 135-140mph

"200ft might b an exageration but i did shift into 5th on one of my runs and i lost a mph soo i duno ill try something different next time"

So your car doesnt have enough power to accelerate in 5th at all. Actually LOSE speed.
That is what you are basically telling us.

Thats hilarious.

Btw I ran 13.7@102.9 on a d15 non vtec with a t3 42/48 on 7 psi in a 97 4 door for all you b series guys still running high 13's.

You should all be 12's or better.

what he is telling you is that in the time it would have taken him to shift into 5th and let the turbo spool..

his car that is allready traveling at 100mph would have allready passed the finish.

You sir are an idiot. You may know something about cars, but your assumptions are all over the place. I cvall those places wrong.

Stupidest thing I heard all day. When you shift, it takes time. Time that you aren't on the gas, not accelerating. Even if he was full-throttle shifting his revs would still go down in 5th and there would still be that split second of the car not putting power out. So therefore that is why his MPH would drop..not because his car doesn't have enough power

Hey thanks for your input but not, it varies on different setups, I GUESS i dont have enough power to shift into 5th according to you. Its just i had a hard time shifting it into fifth i guess, also the lag by tat time im done wit my 1/4, and i wasnt making up my mind so just kept it in 4th, Hey i give props to u for running ur 13.7 on ur SOHC but u dont have to bash on what i ran u were not driving my car. To all u guys for ur positive feed backs and to the haters

Are you all serious ?
It was **********SARCASM*********
Did no one catch that ?

The point is, if it takes you that long to shift to 5th gear, you shouldnt be drag racing.
It just sucks that his car is VERY FAST and it isnt running near its potential.

"wickedhatch18" Have ya thought about putting a vtec head on your block? You will be able to rev higher and probably won't have to shift into 5th in the 1/4 mile. Oh and your car will be a lot faster. Crank that boost up!

This thread is funny lol... I'd love to make a smart *** comment about a lot of things, but my post would be too long.

If you have a turbo b-series you should be in the 11's... or at the very least low 12's... bottom line.

I wasnt hating on him.
I clearly stated that he has a VERY FAST car.
Its just not running what it should be.
I dont think I am anything but someone who does the most he can.
Your 60's were good. Consistent. But why not do that through the whole run ? Yu obviously have the potential proven by the rest of your run.

BTW this is a message board. People can say what they like as long as your not cursing like an idiot.
