Default Ran the Civic hybrid/turbo last night...

Well as I said before I would post my times on the new hybrid/turbo. I made only three passes because it was to f*#)@G crowded. All in all though I am very pleased.

1st run:
R/T ......... .612
60' ......... 2.175
330 ......... 5.944
1/8 ......... 8.990
MPH ........ 83.63
1000 ........ 11.581

1/4 ....... 13.782
MPH ....... 103.98

2nd run: (best run)
R/T ......... .508
60' ......... 2.134
330 ......... 5.711
1/8 ......... 8.880
MPH ........ 84.12
1000 ........ 11.452

1/4 ....... 13.612
MPH ....... 105.20

3rd run:
R/T ......... .577
60' ......... 2.219
330 ......... 6.001
1/8 ......... 9.087
MPH ........ 80.67
1000 ........ 11.795

1/4 ....... 13.881
MPH ....... 101.65

This was at 2600 ft above sea level and only on .5 ~ bar!!! I was stoked to say the least. Turning up 13's with a stock motor and only like 7lbs of boost. Not bad...huh? I think I am running hella rich though becuase the kit came with a 12:1 FMU

Next time I post timeslips hopefully that will be 12 second passes.

If that was on street tires, that's amazing. Just imagine running at sea level...Nice job!!

That was on Nitto Drag Radials @ 25psi in the front and 17-inch Enkei Zoku's in the back. However, I didn't heat them up because the idiot in the box wouldn't let me go in the water because they aren't real slicks. I would have prolly done alittle better, had I been able to light them up.

Very respectable times! Heating those tires and putting down a better 60 footer should yield even better times. Good job!
Take care,

Thanks, to all for the props. I was very happy with the results myself. I am totally glad I ditched the SOHC turbo setup for this one. My best e.t. with that setup was a 13.9 @ 16lbs and that wasn't a stock setup like this one is. Thanks, again.

dam 13.9 on 16psi
what did you do to your motor to run 16 psi??
with a thicker headgasket and some tuning im thinking of running 14psi
what times do you think i can get with a 97 Civic DX Hatchback at 14psi?
by the looks of your times, it makes me want to get a new motor
but i believe in my SOHC
for now anyway

All I had done to the motor was a 2mm head gasket and block guard. The motor held up though... I figure I was going to blow eventually, that's why I changed out the motor with a much stronger motor.

Depending if you are at sea level or not. You will prolly pull high 13's at 14psi. SOHC can be made fast... don't give up hope.

the d16z6 is a crazy little motor. They will handle 15psi for about a year until they blow up. But they are super super cheap ~$400. So boost away.

I run 15-18psi on my d16z6 though i have pistons, rods, metal head gaskets, block guard, and a few other little things.

thanks guys for the info
hey do you know if greddy sells a turbo manifold that will make a 92-95 Civic Greddy Turbo Kit fit a b series motor
or do you know of how or where i could get one
my original plan was to get a new motor
but i only had 15,000 on it when i bought the car
so i thought it might have been a waste of a very good motor
and i know the greddy kit isnt that great
but if the manifold was only a couple hundred extra
it would be good til i bought a better turbo kit
well let me know
thanks again

I know one thing about greddy... They "WILL NOT" sell pieces of their turbo kits. They will make you buy the whole thing. That is one thing I hate about greddy. I was originally going to keep the 15G turbo kit I had for the sohc motor and adapt it to the B18C1 however they wouldn't sell just the manifold by itself... *******! So I had to sell that kit and buy a whole new kit. I don't really care though because I now have the Drag Kit and I am very pleased.
