Default quick Q... new turbo setup = new tune?

ok so my friend is running a turbonetics t3/to4e .57trim .60a/r

the turbo is shot, looking to get a new turbo, if he buys a garrett t3t04e .57trim .63a/r will he need a new tune or will it be fine on his current tune?

i feel like a total noob asking this but im not totally sure and dont want him to spend more $$ then he has to

turbonetics = dealer of garret turbochargers.

Anytime you change the flow of air in and out of your motor, a retune is recomended. If he had a conservative tune to begin with and hes only changing the flow slighty, I wouldnt even bother. Only if you know your tune was rich to begin with.

Default Re: quick Q... new turbo setup = new tune? (originalsin)

when i put my t3t67ho on my b16 after i had a small t04b, it was a little lean but the old tune was fat and safe anyway. in my case i needed a retune, because the turbo was way larger.
look at the wideband and go from there, but to be safe it should atleast be strapped down for a test run.
