Default quick answer please: will driving around w/ 44psi of fuel pressure at idle hurt anything?

I think my fuel pump is overpoweringthe diaphram in my fpr. So I need to drill a relief hole in it (from TOO's site: http://www.theoldone.com/articles/regulator/).

Untill I do this, is it bad to drive around overly rich like that?

I will say no due to the fact I have been that way for about 10 months now, regardless it's a greddy kit and stock fuel pump.
