Questions on Turboing my 2001 prelude sh HLEP
I have a 2001 prelude sh. I drive it everyday. The motor is completely stock execept for a Aem CAI - I dont even have exhaust. I have about 6500 to spend on buying the parts/installing the parts/and tuning the parts. I know this is not alot of money. I want to either go turbo or JRSC. The pros of turbo are alot more speed, the sound of the bov, and the capabilites. The cons are money, reliability, and engine damage. Jrsc pros are not as expensive, reliable for a daily driven, and good for street use. Cons are speed, and not very upgradeable. I dont know what to do, some help would really be appreciated..what do you guys suggest. I CANT BLOW MY MOTOR, AND I CANT BE GOING IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP WITH BROKEN PARTS. I found a great tuner, John Brown Racing here in south florida, so tuning isnt an issue. Please offer me with your suggested setup, and costs for parts install and tuning. Thanks so much guys, I cant wait to be BOOSTED.

you cant turbo an SH model without converting it to OBD1 ecu. the main problem is the Traction control. i believe if the traction control is taken out, it may be able to run with a turbo setup. there are also other factors involved. All i know its not a clean install where you just put it on and go.
do some more research on this before taking on this project. same goes with JRSC..

Re: Questions on Turboing my 2001 prelude sh HLEP (exospeedAMcrx)
whoa traction control????? there is no traction control on the prelude SH it is an electronically controlled differential that nobody has been able to keep working well with a turbo. some supercharged guys can get it to work but you can turbocharge a SH prelude but just pull the fuse for the ATTS unit and it opens the differential and now it is like a base model prelude. as for the whole ATTS thing some people think it is worthless i do not i love my SH and have plans to keep my ATTS unit working with 300 whp I know some engineers and have already got some great ideas for keeping the ATTS unit functional with high horsepower stay tuned.....
