Questions About B16 Motor With 50K+ Miles
I basically have a b16 motor on the side. I think it has about 50k+ miles on it.
The motor was turboed for about 5K Miles, and now the turbo kit has been sold, but i'm looking to turbo the motor again when its swapped into my EK.
Is there maintenance stuff i should do before it goes into my car?
Should i rebuild the motor in any way before going into my EK coupe?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have any certain power goals that your trying to meet or are you just looking for some extra power out of it??
If you don't plan on going over 8-10 psi I would just do a nice little tune up on it, I would do a waterpump, timing belt, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, valve adjustment.
From there you should be on point and ready to go.

wasup Edgar . . . . you can run 12lbs ona good tune, but if you really want to play it safe you can always get some rods and pistons, or just run 10lbs

oh yea its gonan be tuned good for sure. What im worried about is the motor being old and needed a rebuild etc.

12psi and a huge turbo maybe, no way that car is gona make 300whp on just your regular turbo kit and a b16. Or you could throw in one of my thicker gaskets.

its very much possible with like intake manifold, cams, cam gears, throttle body, flywheel, all with a stock motor basically.
I might run one of those percision turbos or a cheapturbos.com turbo.
And its all in the tuning guys. This same motor on a very small Apexi Turbo kit made 250HP to the wheels before it was retuned again for another 8 hours.
After the 8 hour retune, it probally made like 255-260.
Bump,
any more thoughts?
