Question on Oil Pressure Gauge install
So i was thinking...
I could install my oil pressure gauge before the oil filter or after the filter(GE sandwich adapter). If I install it before the filter im assuming the pressure would read higher on the gauge when the filter is starting to clog up. However if i installed it after the oil filter it would read lower if the filter was clogging. Is there any flaw in my reasoning? Ive noticed most people are putting the gauge with the stock pressure sensor..and would it be a bad idea to T-off with the GE adapter?

Re: Question on Oil Pressure Gauge install (TurBoTeG)
either way , the difference in oil pressure readings will be minimal. The point of the gauge is to see really if your making good pressure or not.

Re: Question on Oil Pressure Gauge install (J337_UNIT)
I would put it after the filter. The sensor on most oil pressure guages is like a pinhole. Before the filter could leave it there to be clogged, where after the filter would probably be better.
As far as T'ing off the sandwich adapter, I don't think you'll have any durability issues, but you may have space issues. It may be just "too much going on" with a T on the adapter. Run and 18" line off of it and put your sensor on the firewall.

just replace the stock oil sending unit with a fitting to hook to your gauge. you dont need the stock oil pressure sending unit because the only thing it does is trigger the oil light in the dash.. if you have a pressure gauge, you dont need the dummy light
