Question on JE pistons for B18c1 going into B16a2?
i was told that JE pistons for a b18c1 stock bore (81mm) 9.8:1cr will fit into a b16a2 stock bore (81mm) and because of the stroke... the compression will be 8.9:1 and i also heard 8.7:1! Can somebody PLEASE confirm this? and will they work fine with eagle rods?
thanks for any help!!!

this is very correct but i cant say exactly what the compression comes out to. I was told by race engineering that it made my motor 8.8 to 1

Re: Question on JE pistons for B18c1 going into B16a2? (g2turbo)
whats the dish volume on that pistons i think from what i remember its -1.7
you should be at 8.612498571102603 compression with a 1597.cc displacement
The pistons will work fine but the compression is damn low.

yeah take it from me and go a little higher. i just dynoed this weekend on a drag3 kit built b16 and i was a little dissapointed with the numbers.
t3/to4b 50 trim comp.
car made 238whp and 174 lbs torque at 12psi (MD dyno payn tech.)
but dont get me wrong its very fun on the street

Check out http://www.c-speedracing.com they have a CR calculator on there, swap out pistons, blocks heads etc etc, I calculated between 1-1.2 CR loss. If you put a GSR piston in a B16A block it would be approx 9.0, make sure to change the stroke for the B16A blcok to 77.4 not 77mm. HTH
