Question on FMIC from a starion and also drag piping...
I have a FMIC from a starion and the pipes are on the tops of the endtanks.
can i leave it like that or should i get them rewelded onto the sides? Has anyone ever done this? how much does it cost?
Also, I'm using drag piping for an SI. Will this fit my LS? thanks guys

drag piping will fit your car, but probably not the intercooler.

I run a starion and i did my own endtank mod. JB weld and 2.25 piping and some caps. Works great, I have some pics.

Sure....endtanks are facing down and are just flat pieces of sheetmetal JB'd on.

I've been running a jb welded starion IC for months now. If you get it nice and clean, free from grease and paint, the jb weld will work fine. Its actually very strong, and can handle an enormous amount of pressure. The only thing you gotta watch out for, is it doesnt flex at all. If you smacked the piping against something, its liable to crack.
If you decide to do it this way, my advise is to cut the hole in the end tank slightly smaller than the piping your going to use. Then, use some small pliers and bend a lip around the outside of the hole. Its kind of hard to explain, but the hole should look like this:

jb weld is super cheap, the crap comes in tubes
strong but i would rather get it tig welded, or braze it. But evidentaly it works, if i didnt have acces to the stuff i do, i to would go this route!!

I always intended to take my IC to get welded (dont have supplies to weld aluminum myself).
I just used the JB weld for test fitting reasons. But, its still working so i never touched it. Heck, as long as its not submitted to any direct shock, it should last for years. Like i said though, the most important thing is to make sure the surfaces are clean and prepped.

on the ic piping, how does the driver's side mount? I can't seem to see where the piping goes through from the inside to the outside of the engine bay.
can anyone show me a pic?
do i need to cut the fenderwell lining?

Once you cut the fender wall to accept the Si's piping, the splash guard should not be a problem.... of course that depends on where you place the endtanks on the starion.
Starion i/c, re-welded endtanks and lovin' it !

If it's just to make pre-fab pipes fit... yes. But I personally did remove the plastic fender liners on the left and right corners to improve cool air-flow for the I/C piping... it's minimal... but something.

I used a whizzer on mine, although you could use a dremel. Just outline the pipe your going to use with a pencil, and then cut the hole a few mm smaller than that. Then just use a small pair of pliers and bend a lip out.
