Question about Precision Engine and Turbo PT 60 VS a T3/T04E.....
How would the PT60 compare in:
Power capability
Effeciency
spool time
to the common:
.63 A/R Turbine Housing
Stage III Turbine
.60 A/R Compressor Housing
60 Trim Compressor Wheel
?
Thanks!

Re: Question about Precision Engine and Turbo PT 60 VS a T3/T04E..... (b18c5turbo)
if i remember correctly the general consensus was that it's much better. i can't compare specifics, but i know that PT's outflow the equivalent garret by about 20%.
look here how the exhaust housings compare: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pict...thousings.html
the pt54, for example, spools at 3200, full boost by 4800 (4500?) and can support up to 650 hp.
they also have a uniquely designed cuting edge center section...but i really don't know enough to tell you why it's good.
i personally am going w/ a pt54

OH CRAP!!....
I guess I'm going with the PT57 then....
The PT60 would be HUGE then for my motor.

Precision Turbos are the OEM that makes the Snails for Sound Performance, a Chicago-based Supra tuner...They spool insanely fast, and are all blueprinted and ****.

So....whats the verdict?
How does it compare?
I saw you made a little less HP on the recent Dyno run, but I'm sure there are other reasons for that.
How does it compare in spool to your previous turbo?.....BTW, what exactly was your previous turbo?
Thanks a ton Art!!!

Im glad you asked.
My old turbo was a T3 Stage 3 .63ar/ T04E .57 and it spooled up to full boost at around 4krpm.
Now the precission turbo likes to move alot of air, and I mean alot, on top end. All my races are mostly on the top end so this turbo will be perfect for me. But, I suggest you get this turbo if you plan on building your motor. If you want a street car with very fast spool up, this isnt the turbo for you. I get full boost at around 4200rpm.
I think I could have made more hp, but I wanted safe hp. I have no idea how lean/rich I was running when I did the 277whp.
I really like the Precision turbo, but if you want something more for the street then I would suggest the pt54.
