Question about new Tial 38mm MVS wastegate
I just recieved my new tial 38mm mvs's today and noticed something odd. I tried putting on the outlet clamp witht he flange on and it hits the wastegate top. and I'm not sure if theres a special way of putting it on, but I've rotated the clamp around n around and it still hits the wg. anyone here already using these?
thanks,

Um, doesn't look like you installed it all the way, looks like its not seated properly. You probably want to seat the clamp on first, then open it up as much as it will go and toss the other v-band in.

Re: Question about new Tial 38mm MVS wastegate
Have you had one of these in your hands ? they're a lil different from the 44mm's. the flanges have lips on them ( i cant remember what that's called). So you can't "slide" it in. with the clamp part way on. In the pic in my hand, thats the clamp with no flange and you can see it sits directly under the red top. I'm sure I could grind down the red body a lil to clear or use some chanel locks or pliers to force the clamp to flex n close (possibly damaging the clamp). But they're so pretty, I'd hate to do that.

Position the clamp so that the opening is facing upward allowing you to slide the clamp on and seating it down all the way. Once you've done that rotate the clamp to the desired position.. Will this not work? In the first picture the clamp isn't seated all the way so its going to hit. Once its down all the way it should clear but not by much.
EDIT: Now that I look at it I realized it will definitely not clear with the bulk of the clamp fastener.

Hmm..Maybe you could just try seating half of the clamp at a time? Have you tried flipping the clamp over? The centering ring inside the clamp might be offset or something so that the outside will clear... idk.. i'm just trying to come up with ideas for you..haha.
