Question about my GT30r...

I traded a smaller Evo 3 turbo for this GT3082r with a mitsubishi 16g exhaust housing. Its from slowboy racing and its called the SBR GT-14. What I'm not sure is that I'm thinking about putting a T3 exhaust housing on it and I'm not sure if they put a different exducer wheel on it for the mitsubishi housing. Here are the specs from slowboy on the turbo:

Compressor side:
• 56"trim" compressor wheel
• 2.41" inducer
• 3.22" exducer
• 65 lb/min airflow

Turbine side:
• 2.16" exducer
• 2.36" major

SBR-GT14
With a TO4E compressor cover 3"inlet, 2" outlet

Is it the Garrett exducer wheel or the mitsubishi wheel? I only want about 350 to 400 whp, but I'm not sure if its gonna choke it in the higher rpms with the smaller exhaust housing. Any help or advice or suggestions would be helpful! Thanks in advance.

Oh, and I'm running a fully built poorman's type r and I live in colorado so i'm gonna have to push more boost to get to these numbers.

Anyone? Opinions would be helpful

Re: Question about my GT30r...

Chances are SBR didn't change any exhaust wheels, as on a GT3082R , they would ruin the tolerances (rendering the turbo useless) if they tried to swap exhaust wheels. More than likely they put a custom 8cm2 or 10cm2 Mitsu housing on it (a custom SBR cast more than likely).

The GT3082 was kind of the red-headed stepchild of the GT-R series. The response was mediocre, and it took too much pressure to make the big power that was expected from the GT3582R. But it worked.. You can swap to a standard T3 housing without much trouble. just remember it is the turbine of the GT3076R.

Re: Question about my GT30r...

Thank you so much. That's exactly what I needed. Do you know if I leave the mitsubishi turbine housing on, will it run out of gas at the higher rpms or will I be ok with it? Or do I need to find a T3 housing? Its gonna be my DD and I'm gonna have no more that 400 whp.

Re: Question about my GT30r...

If this is on a honda that uses a universal flange, its best to use a standard T3 housing, as there's no O2 housing to worry about, and fitment will more than likely be easier, depending upon the application.

Do you know what kind of spool characteristics will it have with a .63AR turbine housing on a fully built poorman's type r 9.5:1 pistons...roughly?

Re: Question about my GT30r...

Not anymore. Its been years since I've seen one used. it'd have to be calculated. give me a boost pressure and a fuel, as well as exact displacement and maximum rpm, and I might be able to give a general - ballpark idea.

Re: Question about my GT30r...

Its not put together yet but i'm planning on running 20 psi, I have some 750cc RC injectors (not sure if you mean fuel pressure cuz i'm not sure about that), max rmp of 8500, 1795cc displacement.

which fuel type? Not fuel pressure.
