Re: qiuck help me safc high low thrittle (honda9369)

Lean it out more. Start with -41% across the board and adjust from there. Pull your plugs and recheck your gap. The plugs will likely be sooty from running rich. A 0.030" gap seems to be the concensus and worked great with my NGK V-Powers.

Go into "sensor check" and make sure all the sensors are working and wired! I don't know if you used the knock sensing option, but you should see your MAP voltage, your TPS voltage and your RPM voltage.

The low-throttle is only a correction. You do not need to give it slope since you should not be boosting at low throttle. (Refresh my memory, is your car OBDII?)

I feel sorry for you guys that have the disadvantage of a MAP sensor. Tuning my car was as easy as setting a base correction.

sensora are working. the gap is at 0.031 so i can leave the low throttle at 0? yes obd2

Re: qiuck help me safc high low thrittle (honda9369)

Set the low throttle at -40% across the map. Since your car is OBDII the short and long-term fuel correction will tune it as long as you're in vacuum.

The high throttle is where you should have problems. The car will not be in vaccum so the stock ECU will freak out. This is where missing links and wideband tuning come into play. When all is said and done you will have to avoid boosting at low throttle.

Who wired tis? Check the wirring. you're throwing codes:

3 - MAP Sensor
and
71-74 - Random Misfire

"The low-throttle is only a correction. You do not need to give it slope since you should not be boosting at low throttle."

He's msot likely running 450's He still has to go -40 across the board for low throttle as well. Just set the high throttle and low throttle slopes all at around -35 to -40.

"The high throttle is where you should have problems. The car will not be in vaccum so the stock ECU will freak out. This is where missing links and wideband tuning come into play"

No. you do NOT use a missing link when you are using the SAFC. It doesn't work that way. The wohle point of the AFC and pulling the voltage back is so that the ecu NEVER sees boost. It thinks you've in Vacuum even when you are in boost.

That's because you ran it SO rich You're supposed to be tunnig in the negative numbers not positive. what injectors?

honda9369 08-28-2004 02:28 PM

Re: (Tchleung)

yea im, in the negatives. i have dsm 450s 98/99 6in 6 out -36 across the board. and my turbo is not that small. rated at 300 whp. and they r the upgrades for the 3000gt https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

That's a small turbo. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif Try leaning it out if you're still rich.. Do you have a wideband O2 or EGT or anything tos ee what's going on?

honda9369 08-28-2004 02:41 PM

Re: (Tchleung)

i dont have a wideband. i cant afford 1 right now. http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

Re: (honda9369)

ok i put the new plugs in it runs better but still like shit. i erased the codes now im getting 73,74 misfire. so whick way do i lean it out. and do i lean the low throttle or what. im almost there. just need some more help. do i mess with the ne-point at all?

Tchleung 08-28-2004 02:56 PM

What are your settings for low throttle and hi thrhtottle. every single point.

the NE-pointare th e RPM points you want to be adjusting. what ist aht set at right now

low is -39 across the board. high is 37,36,36,36,36,36,35,35

Why is your hi in the positives? supposed to be negatives! or did you jsut forget to type that.

EDIT: Also what is your NE-Point set to

Re: (Tchleung)

im sorry there in the negs.

93turbo16 08-28-2004 03:03 PM

If he were that high, he would definitley throw a map code, so I think he is negative.

93turbo16 08-28-2004 03:04 PM

see if you have a fuel leak anywhere, did you use new seals? You might have an injector leaking, check all the plugs and make sure they are the same.

Re: (honda9369)

so i should lean out the low throttle? and would leaning out be higher in the neg.?like foe instance -50 would be leaner than -36?

Tchleung 08-28-2004 03:39 PM

The higher the negative number, the leaner you are. What motor is this on? and again, waht are the NE-Point's set to?
