Default psi on my new build question

i am building a ls vtec turbo motor. the block is a b18b. je 9.1 comp pistons, acl bearings, eagle rods, and itr oil pump. my head is b16 head sk2 stg2 cams, milled .20,itr vlaves, itr springs, sk2 retainers, aebs intake mni port matched to a jg tb, rc injectors(not sure what size yet),jun cam gears. i have been looking around on here seeing people run 18-20psi on similar block set-ups. but with my head shaved it raises my comp ratio. how much boost could i run tuned safely for a dd?

its not how many psi that matters..... you can run 8psi with a shitty tune and blow your motor.... tuning is the key to a boosted motor

I would get a boost controller and have a street/pump gas tune and then a track/race gas tune.

That is what i did and am going to continue to do. 18 psi street and 25 psi (maxed injectors out) last year, this year mid 30 psi.

Not just that, its also limited to the gas you use. DD's need to use whatever's in range. Out here we only have 93 (100, c16, e85 is a pain to get), so that means ~400whp. WHat you have is more like 600whp worth of components, you seriously only need half that for a DD that can't get traction. Speaking of which, I'd put the money into suspension/tires first for that much power.

with stock sleeves, 400-500 safely.

With pump gas, under 400 safely.

Without traction, it doesnt matter.

I have seen stock sleves take 25+psi on really really good tunes and race gas

on pump gas I wouldnt push it more than 12-15 psi... but you should ask your tuner what he feels comfy tuning
