I'll say 400 with the Eagles, no prob. Get some good tuning I thought you were doing a B20/VTEC with an 85mm bore?

See he we go again. Why is everyone always knocking Eagle rods? I thought Eagle made a quality set of rods? I haven't had any problems and I know others running them that haven't had any problems, what gives?

My guess is one person had a bad experience with Eagle rods, which was probably installer error and said something. At which point everyone else jumped on the bandwagon. That's usually how good quality parts get a bad name. I want to hear from someone who has had a bad experience with Eagles and what their problem was. Don't tell me about your friends friend, I want personal experience.

sorry, didnt mean to start the eagle war. you may be correct, most of the failures are usually builder error. why dont the others fall apart when there is builder error though?? pauters just dont break at 10k rpm or 200whp all motor. i have seen eagles break at 200whp personally. that was on a motor assembled by endyn. i would say that motor was not builder error, but who knows. anyway, i'll drop the topic so i dont screw up this guys thread. good luck anyway buddy.

is that a coupler to press in your piston rings? or where did you get the ring compresor?

Yes, my Eagle rods came with ARP bolts. And I do think someone did just made close to 650whp using Eagles. However, to be honest if I knew I was going to be building a motor for 500+ whp I would go with something more expensive like Crowers or Pauters. But for under 500whp the Eagles will be just fine.

poeple knock rods when their tuning game aint on point and cause them to blow, i love it how people think forged internals are bulletproof,

some guy on vwvortex ran 10.5 on stock block with a thicker headgasket and 28 psi on a t72, with dta stand alone, thats hwat you call tuning

thanx for all the comments guys. the rods actually survived a different blown engine. It was just a popped cylinder wall, but it blew at 22psi, stock block. SO, I know these rods are good.
I got them cheap, cuz my brother cant build manifolds, nor install turbo kits, so we did a little barter
on the engine stand, i believe I payed $25. It was the last one in-stock from Advanced Auto.
And any other guesses on HP? The only limitation that I can see is the stock LS head. Im banking on 500 plus HP, tuned by Tom Payn once I get everything broke in.
Oh ya, my straight T4 might limit things. I need a bigger one hehe

damn, are you sure ? most stands are only for 500-1000 lbs...
I mean a big block chevy is no where near 2 tons...

I dunno if I trust a 20 bucks engine stand
