Default Project Boosted EF: The Journey to 400+ whp (warning: lots of pics)

Just posting some progress on my car

Car has been sitting since August so I thought it's time to take it out of storage.

Up my car goes on the hoist

JDM YO!!

Engine almost out, yes, im pissed, i mean really pissed....GRRRR:

Bye Bye old engine:

Bye Bye crossmember:

Hello Full-Race traction bars

Stupid radiator bracket is in the way

Happy cutting

F*CK YOU BRACKET!!!

Nicely shaven, the way I like it

Aeromotive Fuel pump setup:

Didn't manage to mount the traction bars as of yet since the original owner took off the tow hooks and I need the stock tow hook bolts to mount the traction bar.

So far my setup consists of:
Turbo:
- CR-Fab Turbo Manifold
- Garrett T3/60-1 w/ Upgraded S Compressor Housing
- Tial 38mm Wastegate
- Tial 50mm Blow Off Valve
- Precision 1000cc Injectors
- 2.5" Intercooler Piping
- 3" Downpipe
- 27" x 6.5" x 3" Front Mount Intercooler

Motor:
- 84mm Benson Sleeved Block
- 84mm Wiseco Coated Pistons
- Eagle 3/8" Rods
- ARP Head Studs and Rod Bolts
- ACL Bearings
- GSR Transmission
- Quaife LSD
- Moroso Oil Pan
- Portflow Valvesprings and Retainers
- Skunk2 Valves
- Ported and Polished Head
- AEM Fuel Rail
- Paxton FPR
- STR Cam Gears
- JG Eddlebrock Intake manifold
- 10 Gallon Fuel Cell
- Aeromotive Fuel pump
- Greddy Oil Catch Can
- 3" Exhaust
- Full Race Traction Bars
- Hasport EFB2 Mounts
-Greddy Oil Catch Can

And here's a big great "fawk you" from my dad

Filthy engine bay:

Time to mask it up:

End result (turned out not bad)

Well, I had to cut the custom mount the previous owner used and weld the factory mount back on:

Test fitting the mount:

Mount tacked on:

Test fit:

Annnndd....finally in my car :

Sittin at my dads shop:

Now to do the intercooler piping

without the turbo maybe

i've been through hell with this car, it took us 4 attempts to put the motor in. First time, my clutch didn't fit since I switched to a hydro gsr so it took me about a month to get a new clutch, 2nd time we noticed that there was a custom mount welded in which took me an extra 2-3 days of working on the car, sourcing a mount and cutting it off a scrap car, etc. 3rd time, we never had the fork for the tranny. Finally on the 4th try everything went smooth. Should be ready to fire up next week as well as hittin the dyno so I will post up the numbers shortly.

You shouldn't store the crank laying like that.

Looks like a really nice setup. What manifold is that and was there any fabrication needed for fitment? Did you keep AC (most likely not)?

its not, the crank is in the engine

manifold is a cr-fab, no mods needed for fitment!! and yeah there is no a/c!

EDIT-- SCRATCH THE NO MODS

hood does not close, and cannot run a dump tube becuase the dp is in the way! will have to modify

Why do Canadians always have shirts/sweaters that Say "Canada" on them?

It's not like We can't tell your Canadian! haha

Looks like a fun setup, 400hp Should come with ease!
