Default Problems running 12-15 psi and charge pipes!

**** meant charge pipes but anyhow...

Hey guys as some of you know I just got the ar back but now it seems everything wants to run great except my 1st charge pipe comingoff the turbo has gotten the idea that it likes to pop off!!!! It did it to me twice today, the first time scaring the **** out of me until my senses came in and realized the motor sound good but no boost was building, problem solved wth reconnecting the pipe onlyto have the same **** happen again after gunning it a couple times. Does this happen every so often or at all to anyone else? I am gonna have to get longer couplers to fix the problem as well as adding 2 hose clamps for each side of the connection because it seems thiscan get reall annoying real fast. Thanks guys,

Nick

use the aircraft grade t-bolt clamps.

this has been posted before but oh well. you can do two things... the proper way is to take your charge pipes off and have lips welded to each end. the ghetto way is to take your charge pipes off and bend lips on each end with a pair of vice grips. both ways work just as well.

when you start getting into big boost you want to upgrade your connectors to double or triple reinforced silicone. going to all t bolt clamps also reduce the likely hood of failure, not only do they have greater clamping force, they also won't cut into you connectors like screw types will.

are the clamps coming off or are the pipes slipping out of the couplers? I've done some work on buick t-types and the best fix we could come up with is to take extra hose clamps and cut them into bands. then take the bands and fold the ends over to make a hook. then you can put the ends of the hooks under your clamps to keep the clamps from moving away from each other. you could also use zip ties but it doesn't look as cool.

t-clamps for sure. plus if you have time, have a bead welded on all the piping ends. If u dont have access to a welder then use a thick epoxy to make a suedo bead.
