Default Problem with Actuator Arm on Internal Wastegate TD04H...

So I picked up a TD04H turbo from the 92-95 civic Greddy kit, and I noticed something about the internal wastegate...

This is how it came (notice actuator arm location on exhaust valve):


HOWEVER...look at the location of the WG...


So, I unhooked the actuator arm and lined up the WG with the bolt holes:


BUT...now the actuator arm doesn't reach the valve:


What can I do to fix this??

Turn the actuator arm so that it meets up. You will have to fidget with it a bit and pull the actuator arm out a bit to get them to matte up, but it should work . The same thing happened to me when I pulled mine off to adjust the boost.

twist it 180 deg so the bend faces the other way

I tried that...but now the arm grinds against the side of the wastegate, and wont push out as easily...

u may need to rotate the compressor housing alittle to get it to line up 100% but aslong as its close it will work with no problems. also just do what every one else said and rotate the arm its self. their should be a sweet spot that it will not hit any part of the turbo, but it might have to be pushed down slightly to make it fit on the aculator. this is fine. my T25 is this way and i have no problems.

rotate either the exhaust or compressor housing. The last guy that owned it probably rotated it into a weird position to fit his pipe routing setup.

About time you stepped up to some real SOHC power.

Also, HOW THE **** DID HE ROUTE THAT OIL FEED LINE???

It looks like it's going to point towards the block when installed.

Dustin.. Take it to your dorm room tonight and ill look at it.. Or if your home let me know and ill come over there.. We had the same exact problem with Steves(TSR) turbo..

Looks like someone bent the arm for more boost. Bend it back?

No, the stock td04h-15g from the greddy kit has that bent arm.

yea, the only way it could be off that much, is it some one bent the arm more, for less boost, or the rotated the housing for clearance probelms, making them have to bend the arm. Just mess with it until you get it right, the way it was, shouldn't hurt anything.

I know, I just mean like on the DSM turbos people bend the arm to adjust the boost for Honda use and they are bent already also. I know alot of times that is how some people change boost settings with a internal wastegate.

It looks like the turbo has been clocked. A few things lead me to believe this. If that oil line was facing in that direction when you picked up the turbo, it appears that the previous owner ran the turbo with the compressor on the driver's side and had to clock the compressor to keep the outlet from blowing straight into the block. The oil inlet is typically straight up and down almost perpendicular to the manifold flange. Also the top wastegate bolt is usually visually inbetween the two manifold flange bolt holes.
