Default PROs and CONs of FMIC and L/AIC

What are the pro's and con's to having a FMIC and L/AIC? I've noticed that pro 4 cyl. drag cars use L/AIC's. Why dont ppl use them more often than a FMIC? I also think it makes your car look more "sleepy" . Along with that you dont have to buy a blang blang front bumper for the intercooler to breath also. Thats another eye catcher you dont need ( car theives). What you guys think?

i agree about liquid/air ic being more sleeper, but effeciency and cost and reliability made me go with FMIC.

to get the most out of a liquid/air set up, you need ice. rolling around under boost in a street car with a L/AIC set up wouldn't be too practical. it melts VERY quickly. the water would get very hot and not be nearly as effective as you would want.

Would it be more comparable to the FMIC if you used an electric pump flowing the water to/from a sump and a large transmission radiator mounted in the front? One more thing, how much colder is the air from a FMIC vs. a L/AIC with a pump/sump/ & a radiator for cooling?

pump flowing water is what causes: higher costs, more moving parts (reliability issues) and since the engergy you are extracting from the air has to go through another medium (water) you lose effeciency. you cant really give a straight number to the difference as it depends a lot on the environment the setup is in (temperature, air flow across radiator, water flow rate, surface area of exchangers etc).

FMIC is just too simple and effective not to use it. on the street anyway.
