Precision Turbo question

Hi im new to the whole FI thing. Already did a search but not still exactly sure what to search for. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Im planning to purchase a Precision turbo but I am not sure as to which one I should buy. The sc32,34,50,or the 61. Some people have told me to go with the 61 because I can make more WHP with less PSI do the size of the wheel, this is a very significant point because I am planing on running stock internals. My current goal is to obtain 300whp. I just want to get my facts staight and go with the right turbo. Any suggestions/ comments are welcomed. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

dont' get all caught up in the more power on less psi..your stock internals are good to a certain power level, not boost level. Any of those turbo's can make 300whp easily, if one takes 14psi to do it while another takes 10psi, it really doesn't matter.

Yeah but which turbo is best, meaning less spooling time better fr top end and mid. Also isn't less psi better, epeciallly if your making more power per psi?

Re: Precision Turbo question (mrmonk)

each of those turbo's will pull hard to redline. The smaller turbos (ie. sc50, etc) will spool faster than the sc61. Since you are limited by your stock internals i would pick the turbo that will give you the most useable powerband. If 300whp is your goal it will not matter how many psi it takes each turbo to make 300whp.

The only time boost as an actual number really matters is in exceeding the stock map sensors limit (~11PSI) or running a turbo out of its efficency range ( you dont' need to worry about that @ 300whp with those turbo's listed).

it will matter if you want more HP and your turbo is maxed out. i know this kid that has a ls with 400hp @30psi, it suxs for him b/c now he has to buy another 1,000 turbo that can push 40psi.

so which turbo do you think i should go with?

but for 300whp an sc60 or sc61 is overkill and a smaller turbo like a sc50 or sc32 will provide a more useable powerband while still being able to support ~400whp in the future on a b18c1.

i'd go with the sc32, i believe theres a member on here makign 309whp @11psi on a stock c1.

Re: Precision Turbo question (mrmonk)

I was searching for this answer for myself. Since I only wanted 300HP to the wheels with my B16 I did lots of searches on the Archives and narrowed it down to 2 choices the SC32 & SC34.

Leaning towards SC34 for some reason I do not know why. Maybe it's bigger.

I think of turbos like tits, bigger is not always better but which one you will have more fun.

Hope that helps.

Well, i can honestly say that you just convinced me to go with the sc34. I was leaning towarsd the sc61 just in case i wanted more power in the future, but i only want 300 to start with on stock internals https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

same here I'm looking for around 300whp and the sc-34 looks good

Too bad it's the wrong answer. Bigger turbos aren't always better. If your goal is 300whp then the SC50 is what you want. The SC50 is efficient to 400ish whp and it is the smallest of the Precision line, therefore it will spool the fastest and still be capable of your goal.

Re: Precision Turbo question (RyanCivic2000)

from what ive seen the 50 trim seems better suited to the 1.6L motors.
