Default precision sc34 oil restrictor

hi, i'm swaping my old 50trim garrett running a .065" restrictor and 4an line for
a sc34. Do i need the restrictor or not i searched and theres a lot of different
opinions. The shop i bougth the turbo say not to use one with 4an. But i see
in our shop a lot of precision smoking brand new and fixed with restrictor.080"
cause of the high honda oil pressures. The guy say he is 100% sure (but is a race shop not precision).

Any help will be appreciate.
thanks

I'm pretty sure you'll need to run the restrictor. Hold on for other opinions though as i'm not a turbo expert.

depends upon oil pressure that you have.

Doesn't hurt to run an oil restrictor, if your line pressure is high and having too much oil flowing through, the restrictor will do its job, otherwise it will just flow less than or equal to the amount allowed through the restrictor...

I'm running the same turbo in question. This is just my personal experience and is not exactly for everyone's setup. Precision tech told me NO restrictor with a -3 line. I've ran it this way for 2yrs + and the turbo was bought used from a friend and he ran no restrictor on it either. -4 is obviously bigger so I would think a restrictor would be needed. Also as mentioned by the shodan it all depends on oil pressure.

my oil pressure is 80psi at WOT and the feed line and oil gauge are connected
to a GE sandwich plate. What do you think it's better .080" or .100" restrictor,
i think .065" it's to small.

Well, you'd be wrong on that. .065" is best for pressures over 80psi at WOT or cold start for Garrett and Precision journal bearing turbochargers
