Is it possible to buy a civic turbo kit and fit it onto a teg?
i've been pondering this in my head and wanted to let it out. i was just wondering if u can purchase the cheaper civic turbo kit, i.e. greddy and somehow make it fit a b18b? what would u need to change? what parts of the kit can u use and what parts cant u use or have to replace?

u will need a manifold that compatible with B series motors thats for sure..probably intercooler piping wont match up right either.. and downpipe might not fit right.. just my 02 cents

well.... in a basic turbo kit (like drag III) you have the following.
-Mystery box(that is the bandaid for your timing problems as well as any other ecu issues)
-RRFPR
-Injectors(maybe)
-inline fuel pump
-manifold
-turbo
-wastegate
-bov
-IC piping
-FMIC
-couplings clamps and hardware
-missing link of somesort
-boost gauge
-intake for the turbo
-downpipe
-oil lines
Of these these following parts may or may not be able to be changed over...
Manifold, Turbo intake, IC piping, and downpipe.
it really depends on what kit you purchase.

you'll need a HKS or some other b-series mani that fits the turbo, and downpipe, also intercooler pipes might be off, fuel management (don't know if the emanage is b-d compatible). Thats all i can think of now. I have a 15g in my integra

Just get a turbo kit for a GSR or ITR and ask for EK plumbing...done deal!

If your trying to save money by doing this, don't. You'll end up paying more after buying the new Mani and everything. When boosting something don't cut corners, thats how you end up with a paper weight of a motor.

The Greddy D series manifold can be ported and modded to bolt up to a B series head. I was researching this as well and it seems that the td05-15g from the greddy civic kit will work fine on the b18a/b, but cannot support enough airflow to make good power on a b18c at 8k rpm. Turbochargers.com has an upgrade for the 15g, but I've not been able to find anyone who is running the upgraded turbo.
In the end, unless you already have the D series turbo kit from your car and are swapping in a B series motor, it seems to make sense to buy the B series kit. I've seen quite a few on this site used for under $2k
