is a ported + polished built head and a turbo too much for stock internals?????
i have a drag 3 set up right now with 7psi. i bought a built head thats ported and polished. i was planning on swapping the head over and putting a 3mm head gasket on while im there so i can turn up the boost. But ive heard that i will have TOO much air for the stock internals. I have a B18C1 motor. Is this true??? and if not what will i have to do to my fuel set up in order to be safe??? i have a 255lph in tank and a vortech 12:1 regulator, stock injectors, stock rail. thanks for your help.

The amount of air and fuel that you put in there is not what is going to cause your bottom end to give. Now the force that is behind it (boost) is what should be your concern. A fully ported and polished head on a stock bottom end will do nothing but improve your air fuel delivery (thats a good thing) you will see power from it. But as long as you keep your A/F mixture constant and at a good level, you will be fine.

Are you asking whats the best way to manage your fuel so you dont run to rich or to lean?
Well if you are on a budget i would do the AFC hack or look into the SMC. And then get it tuneed via a wideband o2 sensor. For the AFC hack or the smc you will need larger injectors. 450's DSM is a popular choice mainly because they are cheap and get the job done well. If you need any more info on this just ask. I am more then willing to help you out.

Yes RC's are very good but the price isnt that freindly. For the dsms you will need either a resistor box or individual inline resistors. You can find the resistor box off of old crx's at the junk yard. All that is needed to make them physically fit into your fuel rail and intake manifold is to trim the existing o-rings just a bit, as the DSM injectors are slightley larger than your factory units.

Yeah that RC's are vehicle specific, so yeah they bolt right in. Im not sure if rc offers a 450 or not but if they do thats what i would get, definatly nothing above 550.

how many miles are on the motor? it's very common that the pistons rings will go out due to the new head, and a motor w/ say 80k or more...i'm not saying it will happen all the time, but it IS very common. getting a new head that's fully built and placing it on a very used bottom end will have this problem.

also make sure the combustion chambers arent touched because it can raise the compression. rc makes the 440's which are drop in, but the smc and dsm 450's with resistor pack or in line resistors from radio shck are much cheaper.

[QUOTE]also make sure the combustion chambers arent touched because it can raise the compression. QUOTE]
Don't think so, unless you mill the head you won't raise compression. Bowl work in the combustion cambers often lowers compression.
