Default Port Match Big Throttle Body to Edelbrock Victor X

Im wondering how much I can port match my Victor X intake manifold. I have a 76mm RPM throttle body that I want to use. The flange on the manifold has enough meat and there doesnt look like there would be any issues with the idle air passages. But Im concerned there isnt enough material behind the flange on the plenum of the manifold.

Has anybod port matched a 76mm or bigger TB to a Victor X?

Well thats good. It doesnt seem like there is a enough material behind the flange. Is the port match tapered or is it just like a straight bore all the way through? Do you have any pics. Thx

Muckman are you going to be upgrading from a stock TB? I would be curious to see the results of running this setup. I'm making good power but still using a stock TB. Don't you run a gt30 varient of some sort?

I had mine bored to 70 by FSM, looks like there was enough room for a 75 or so.

So I went ahead and port matched the IM myself. Here are some pics of the job. Took me about 3 hours total.

Original 65mm, marked and taped up.

Heres the amount of aluminum removed and the double cut carbide bit I used from Mcmaster.

Finished 76mm.

Close up. Sanded down with fine grit.

With RPM 76mm TB installed so you can see the port match.

Any of you guys who had your manifolds ported this big have issues with the throttle body gasket? Im worried about blowing out the seal between the opening and the idle air passage. You can see the area is very thin here. I bought some gasket paper to cut a gasket from.

does upgrading the tb to a aftermarket one have any benefits on a boosted motor?

Well I did two changes , I made 711whp 35psi with 2.5" intercooler piping and a 65mm TB, Tony1 suggested changing to 3" piping and a 70mm TB we made 714whp with 32psi so 3whp mroe BUT 3psi less. Piping had a lot to do with it BUT also the TB size

Recently I had made 545whp with a 70mm TB and later installed a 76mm TB and made 593whp BUT on different days and all and I really don't think it really made 50whp
