pop off valves? anyone use one?
what the topic says... I see them used in the rx7's and others but I have yet to ever see one or hear of someone looking to get one for their f/i honda.

I used one in an old RayJay kit for a VW dunebuggy. It's old school. a wastegate works better.
The problem is that it will cut the boost... but it allows the turbo to over spool, and produce heat. A waste gate keeps the RPM's down to match boost pressure.

Re: pop off valves? anyone use one? (twkdCD595)
its actually was mandatory in the hey day of F1 racing so that the FIA could be sure that no team was overboosting the set max of I think 35psi, the pop off valve would blow and effectively keep the car from making more than 30psi afterwards, to fit one on street car would be a form of redundancy incase the wastegate did not function. kinda overkill unless you do not trust the second hand wastegate you bought off ebay.
