bone stock ls motor
60-1 on bfg's
11.87@118
and crushing 90% of everthing on the street. and next year when you get pistons and rods u can support 500 no prob
and isent alot cheaper then the 2871?

Re: (fmfkid250)
i liked the 57 trim on my ls. with a .48 turbine ar you should see spool in the low 4000 range, which isnt bad. its not as good as the gt28 but it will be able to support more power up top

im starting to lean towards the 60-1 and to4e. the marginally quicker spool of the gt series turbos is starting to seem less appealing when taking into concideration the price. especially if you factor in the fact that if I build my motor the turbo won't have much breath left. the idea of having to run 15+ psi to attain my goal whp makes the little bit quicker spool time not worth it.

whats the big concern of a fast spool?
the fast spooling turbos tend to have alot more traction problems
if you look at everyones time slip you will see what i mean...

he will have alot more fun with a gt series turbo, especially daily driven.he will not have traction issues with 300whp,bfg drag radials, lsd, traction bar, suspension at that hp he will be alright.

no offense, but i think thats too big of a turbo for daily street use on a stock ls with a 7000 rpm rev limit.
looking back on my ls setup (especially if u use and ls trans) i think youd be better off with a lil smaller of a turbo and a few more psi to attain your power goals. it will have better midrange and more street response.
im not spooling my 60-1 until about 5200 (14psi lsvtec). too small of a powerband for a stock ls i think(again especially if you use an ls trans)

I am concerned with quick spool up because it will be 100 percent street car. 5k spool up is a little late when you shift at 7k. as for the tranny, its a gsr.

its not my car and its not my turbo..
but the bigger turbo is alot better for the motor as well...
I was DD for 2 years on the 60-1
who wants to be at full boost 3k driving around town. it was there if i wanted it just had to reach for it.
it starts spooling at 4 then after that you wouldent be able to shift fast enuff.
after the two years i got a block built and i made 480whp @ 20psi
i would say it is 100% the best "street turbo"
