Default Please read (2parts to this)...Is there a difference between a Type R oil pump then a SI?

I want to know if I should or even could upgrade to a Type R oil pump for my B16a2? Is it worth it cuz seems like I have been blowing turbos left and right now my Precision SC50 with not even 1000 miles is leaking oil I check all my lines it worked great all this time and I even blew my old turbonectics turbo after 1500miles..... WHATS GOING ON

I crank the motor and there's a good amount of oil coming out... I was thinking when its at high rpm the the turbo doesn't see much oil or something so it starves any help or suggestions would be great! before I forget I have a turbo timer which I run for 1min 30secs!

What size line are you using to feed?
Where is it being feed from?
What dose your oil return look like? (pic would help) Also what size is it?
What BOV and have you played with the spring/tensioner screw?

Answer these Q's and we will go from there.

What size line are you using to feed? The one from the Drag Kit

Where is it being feed from? The Oil pressure switch

What dose your oil return look like? (pic would help) Also what size is it? The rubber hose from the Drag kit and the bung is high up on the oil pan

What BOV and have you played with the spring/tensioner screw? Blitz and haven't played with the screw

its your oil return, you using a -3an fitting right to feed the turbo?

Drop the pan and put in 4-4.5 quarts and see if your bung is higher enough. Or even easier take off your return line and fill the motor fill of oil, does it leak out?

I know your having problems with you oil return, but to answer your question regarding the si oil pump, and type r. There is a difference but they both work. I know with my b16a2 (OBD II) si motor. There's a sensor that's attached down there. I can't remember the name right now, (I thinks is crank position sensor) but you won't be able to use it anymore so hopefully your running OBD I. The ecu won't look for it. Also you'll need the timing belt pulley from a B18c along with two plates. Here's a link to what I'm talking about.

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...ISTON

The b16a2 uses #12, and one #13

The B18c and I think b16's OBD I uses #11, and two #13's.

This is just what I had to do with my experience so if I'm wrong someone correct me please, but it worked for me.
