Please List Your High HP Fuel System Setups
I am interested in hearing what fuel pump/line size/injectors/fpr/fuel pressure you guys are running in cars making power in the 400-600whp range (for those of you that don't mind sharing). I'm mainly interested in what fuel line sizes you guys are using; -6? -8? -10? Thanks people!

Im using a -6 return and a -8 feed. Making about 500hp, no need for any larger lines then that for my application..

Re: Please List Your High HP Fuel System Setups (hpfsi)
I use the aeromotive fuel pump with -6 return and -8 to the rail, aermotive fpr, aeromotive fuel filter, 1100cc injectors. Fuel pressure is set at 38psi. Haven't gone to the dyno with this particular setup yet but it feels just as strong as the last one I did and that made 426whp on a clayton dyno, so that's about 500whp.

Re: Please List Your High HP Fuel System Setups (hpfsi)
just for clearification.
how thick is -6 from -8 SS fuel lines?
-also is this something that you have routed to a spearate fuel tank and cell?
-does it go all the way back to the fuel pump or just to the fitting in the engine bay that the HARD fuel line stops at?
*what is the rule of thumb for fuel lines when upgrading because bigger is not aways better.
*** stock should be fine up to about 400whp correct...?

You make a sump and then weld it to your stock tank. Offcourse you have to mod your stock tank or you can buy a different tank and place it in your trunk. I would recommend modding your stock tank if it's for a street car.
You have to take out your stock lines from underneath your car and then run both lines back to the rear of the car. I like to keep the pump near the tank and then just run the lines to the rail. -8 and -6 should be good for over 500whp.
Yes, bigger is not always better when talking about fuel lines because you want some pressure also.
Stock lines should be good for 400hp

we are making 510wheel on a stock fuel system... as far as the tank and lines go. just a 255high pressure walbro pump, 880cc injectors, aem fuel rail and a b&m fpr. im not sure that the stock stuff is limiting us, honestly im not sure how to tell if it is or not. we arent having any problems with fueling the car as far as i can tell. this is hte first high hp car i have done. how exactly would i know when the stock lines are holding us back?

I have seen boosted hybrid do a bit over 500whp with 255lph pump, 920cc injectors, all stock lines, fpr and fuel rail.

What size line would you consider equal to stock fuel line size? I have two 14ft -6an lines and hope to use them for my setup. Think -6an feed is big enough for 400-500hp?
thanks for the help. and bump for a good post.

Re: Please List Your High HP Fuel System Setups (RenoRacing)
-6 is just slightly larger then a stock line.
I am trying to come up w/ a fuel system for my new set up right now also. I want it quiet, I want to be able to run the tank to empty, and I want to be able to support 500whp comfortably. Oh yeh, Cheap and reliable too. im not even kidding.
From the little research ive done, it seems like there are two camps of High HP fuel systems running around H-T.
1) mostly stock set up w/ big injectors and walbro intank. 4-5 guys on h-t pushing it to 500whp. whats the HP limit for this?
2) external pump w/ sump, -8 feed/-6 return, big big injectors. Proven over 600whp. Loud, expensive. what hp is it nessacary?

Its nescessary when you just DONT want to run out of fuel ever. You dont want to be maxxed out. If your making 500hp, what makes ya think you wont try to make 600 down the road?. I rather spend the money and do it right the first time, and do an external pump, etc, rather then do it twice.

I got my 1100 cc's injectors to idle just like stock.. Well almost..
It takes a sec or two to get it started on cold mornings and it idles a bit high (1,100 rpm )because I don't have a IACV so I control the idle with fuel and timing.

But the Sump/external is definitly alot less of a streetable set up. you can't run w/ low gas, you got ground clearance to worry about, and then its super loud. I guess its a trade off like everything else.

Re: Please List Your High HP Fuel System Setups (SIXTYdashONE)
Well. I'm more than willing to give, I'm going w/ the Aeromotive a1100 pump(i think that's the right part number), the aeromotive FPR, and I got the GE fuel rail and a 5gallon cell. If people have made 500hp on stock fuel lines than I should be fine w/ -6 for a feed right? I know it's better to go bigger and not have to worry about upgrading down the road but i already have two -6 lines the right length. anyone see any problems w/ that setup?
